Student Services

Welcome to the Dayton School District Student Services department!

Vision: Student Services is a collection of multiple programs with a common goal of supporting ALL students in Dayton schools through one unified department.

Model: Every Dayton student is a general education Dayton student first, then the services that they receive through our programs are in addition to, not in place of, that general education service and identity.

The Key Pillars of Students services are:

  • Equity and access for all students - regardless of Language or Ability
  • Inclusive practices under the umbrella of Least Restrictive Environment
  • Whole-child approach (Academic, Behavioral, Social-Emotional, Health [Mental and Physical])
  • Strong focus on compliance and best practice

Programs within Student Services:

  • Special Education
  • English Language Development
  • Talented and Gifted (TAG) programs
  • Counseling
  • Section 504
  • Health Services
  • McKinney-Vento
  • Migrant Programs
  • Foster Care
  • and Family Resources and Engagement.

If you have a student you feel is eligible or would benefit from one of these programs, please contact your student's teacher or building administrator to get more information.  You can also contact the Director of Student Services.  We look forward to talking with you and collaborating on how best to meet your student's specific needs.
