Emergency Closure Information
In the event of possible school delay or closure due to inclement weather, unsafe road conditions, or other circumstances, our district will automatically notify parents and guardians through the ParentSquare automated call system. Parents and Guardians are added to ParentSquare using the contact information submitted during registration. This is the primary means of communication with our familes for all school notifications, including emergency alerts. Check with you student's building office if you are not receiving these communications.
Should there need to be a school delay or closure, a decision will be made as early as possible to open schools on time, to delay the starting time, or to close schools. Dayton School District wants you to know that in weather closure situations this winter, we will post “Closed” rather than a list of everything that is cancelled. If you see “Closed” for our district, it means that no district activities will take place and buildings will be locked. If an event or activity will go on, we will state specifically which event or activity will take place.
